Los Angeles’ #1 Online Marketing Agency, Advertise Purple and LA Press met to review the new e-commerce sales opportunities created by the release of the iPhone 5.  Their findings show that new apps, size, and functionality will attribute to revolutionized mobile commerce for internet retailers during this coming holiday season.  So, how exactly will the new release affect holiday sales?

Increased screen size shows more content

    • One reason this new release is going to affect e-commerce sales is that “the increase in screen size is going to give shoppers a much easier time browsing online. Combined with the fact that smart phones account for 3% of all online sales now and are expected to account for 7% of all online sales by 2016, it makes an obvious case for the increase,” revealed Advertise Purple.

Twice as fast to buy

  • The new iPhone has a new A6 chip, which is twice as fast as the previous A5 chip, according to an article posted on InternetRetailer.com.  With digital wallet applications such as Passbook, access to payment information is even more convenient for customers purchasing online.  With 4G LTE capabilities, internet retailers will be able to showcase products in a faster, more convenient way for mobile shoppers.

Ads are cheaper & more effective on mobile devices

  • Ad inventory in mobile space is extremely affordable, and now is the time to buy.  Running targeted ad space through Google, Microsoft AdCenter to smart phone carriers is a fraction of the cost compared to computer ad costs.  The PPC Management agency in Los Angeles noticed that “ads are more targeted and conversions are much higher from mobile ad inventory.”  Mobile advertising will soon be a staple in marketing strategy moving forward, so being a first-mover would be a smart decision for e-commerce businesses.
