Since the age of seven, Paula Montgomery has been making her own jewelry, using her Grandmother’s button and jewelry boxes for inspiration. Today, her unique, one-of-a-kind pieces can be found on her ecommerce store, and this week’s Store Spotlight, Paula Montgomery/On(re)Purpose.
While Paula’s current store has been live since April 1, 2011, she has had previous experience with the Miva Merchant platform, after receiving a recommendation from her webmaster Cameron Way of Trent Studios. It was this previous experience that led her to choose Miva Merchant again.
“I’ve had a Miva Merchant store for many years, says Paula. “Prior to this business I had another business that used Miva Merchant and I loved how customizable it was and user-friendly. I appreciate all the modules that are available and how my store doesn’t feel like an ‘out of the box’ shopping cart system, but looks expensive and custom-made for me. Plus, everything is so reasonably priced that I rarely hesitate to add cool features to make my site more functional or beautiful.”
Every piece on her site is unique and handmade, and there are approximately 40-50 pieces for sale at any given time, including bracelets, necklaces, and earrings. Customers can also view previously sold pieces, and subscribe to the to get more information.
“I love that I can enter products, change text, etc, whenever I want,” says Paula, when asked what she thinks the greatest advantage of Miva Merchant is. “I don’t have to wait for anyone to do it for me, nor do I have to pay anyone to do it for me!"
