Store Spotlight: Night Optics USA

Even the sharpest eyes need a little help sometimes, especially when it comes to spotting concealed objects, things that are far away, or viewing objects and people at night. Since 1994, Night Optics USA has been providing night-vision goggles and other day and night vision and thermal imaging products and accessories for local and federal law enforcement agencies, government agencies, and commercial and non-commercial applications.

In 1998, Night Optics launched an online store, and launched their first ecommerce store in 2001. In 2006, they moved to the Miva Merchant ecommerce platform.

On March 2nd of this year, Night Optics launched a re-designed version of their ecommerce site with help from Rosdigital Creative Solutions, owned by Night Optics USA Director of Marketing and Creative Development, Rolando Petit.

“We’re happy with Miva Merchant and our ability to do so much with it, “says Petit. “The Community Forum and other resources mean that you will rarely be left without answers to questions. We also like the ability to incorporate other scripting languages like PHP and jQuery to create a more rich experience for the user. It just works and at the end of the day, that is all you need.”

Besides selling a wide variety of products, the site also offers information about the history of night vision technology, how night vision technology works, a glossary of terms, and other helpful resources.

Currently, the store carries around 250 products in stock. Over the next six months, however, approximately 300-500 products are expected to be added. While many of their customers are government and law enforcement agencies, Night Optics also caters to hunting enthusiasts and other night vision product users.
