Store Spotlight: Mansoura Pastries

Written by Miva | Jul 13, 2011

Since 1961, Mansoura Pastries has specialized in making and selling unique and delectable pastries, confections, and other gourmet food items, continuing the more than 200 year-old Mansoura family tradition that began in Egypt and Syria.  In April of 2009, the New York City-based brick-and-mortar business officially launched its Miva Merchant-powered ecommerce store.

Among the items sold are the best-selling Baklava, made from a centuries-old, closely guarded Mansoura family recipe, and Turkish Delight, (with and without chocolate) as well as an assortment of other treats such as Apricot Rolls, Greybeh, (Egyptian cookies) Jordan Almonds, Chocolate Covered Pretzels, Belgian Chocolates, and much, much more.

“We’re committed to quality and make every piece with love and care,” says Jack Mansoura, who currently runs the family business along with his brother, David. “Our products travel around the world.”

In total, the store features about 80-90 products, and plans to add more, particularly to the Gifts section, are in the works.

“I like that Miva Merchant is constantly adding new features and working to make the software better and better every day,” adds Mansoura.  “The new PR8 features are fantastic. Especially the phone order function. Miva Merchant’s Support is amazing, too! The ability to go to the forums and have someone answer you back within minutes is a great thing.”
