Store Spotlight: Discount Flies Online Fly Shop

Ask any fly fisherman, and they’ll probably tell you that they prefer certain types of flies over others. Thanks to this week’s Store Spotlight, Discountflies Online Fly Shop, finding quality flies of all types and in bulk quantities is a quick and simple process.

Founded in 1999, Discountflies sells fly fishing flies and gear, and provides a comprehensive fly hatch chart for major rivers in the United States.

“When we began our company in 1999, we needed a shopping cart that we could modify to our customer’s needs,” says Discountflies Online Fly Shop President, Mike Ryan.  “Because of the module market that was available to Miva Merchant users, we could design the shopping cart the way that we wanted our store to function, rather than functioning within the limited boundaries of the other available shopping cart.“

While primarily specializing in trout flies, Discountflies is also growing the market for saltwater, bass, and salmon flies, and plans to further expand their product offerings in the future.  Since the store’s initial launch, inventory has grown from approximately 200 products to 3,497 and counting.
