Store Spotlight: BronsonDesign.com

Written by Miva | May 26, 2011

It has been said that the way that you decorate your home is a direct reflection of your personality.  This week, our Store Spotlight is on BronsonDesign.com, an ecommerce store that helps people find just the right furniture and accessories to compliment both their personalities and decorating tastes.

Since 1981, Montclair, New Jersey-based Bronson Design Studio has been selling home décor merchandise from their brick-and-mortar store, including mirrors, art, alternative wall décor, accessories, lamps, lighting fixtures, and accent furniture.  In 2007, Bronson launched their ecommerce store and has relied on the Miva Merchant ecommerce platform to provide their online customers with exemplary customer service and quality merchandise.

“Our web hosting company back then had an entry level ecommerce package that allowed us to list 10 products for sale. Miva Merchant was the shopping cart. I can laugh now, but I remember agonizing over which products to display, “says Dave Romanko, Chief Ecommerce Officer of Bronson Design Studio.

“It was probably 3 months before we sold a single product online. During that time, I discovered the Miva Merchant Community Forums, a discussion forum for Miva Merchant products and services,” adds Romanko.

“I found the folks who frequent the forums to be incredibly patient and helpful. Everyone from programmers, to developers, to designers, to fellow store owners, to the President/COO of Miva Merchant himself; everyone goes out of their way to offer assistance. I literally learned something new every day that allowed us to improve the web store.”

Over the years, the Bronson Design.com store has continued to evolve and grow, and this month, (May 2010) a newly-designed store was launched, carrying an impressive inventory of 10,000 to 12,000 different products.  Customers can also request interior design advice and obtain product recommendations online, allowing them to connect directly with Bronson Design professionals.

“For our new design, we wanted clean look and decided to embrace minimalism. The navigation, layout and content of the website all take on this ‘less-is-more’ philosophy to make it a more engaging and user-friendly experience,” says Romanko. “We couldn’t be happier with how it turned out.”
